Effectiveness of different management strategies for Mexican sunflower diversifolia on yam (Dioscorea alata) Plot

Tithonia diversifolia has become a major science downside to optimum cultivable crop production in African country that has necessitated effective and timely management if the nice yield is anticipated on plagued soil. This study compared the performance of Dioscorea alata below totally different weed management strategies on Mexican sunflower plagued plot at Ogunba village close to Baaya-Oje in Surulere government space of Ogbomoso, Oyo State throughout the 2015 season. Eight (8) management treatments were evaluated namely: Weed management with weedkiller, Diuron, two hoe weeding, three hoe weeding, Black plastic mulch, grass mulch, Diuron + weedkiller + Plastic mulch (IWM) and unweeded plot. The 3 (3) hoe weeding and also the unweeded plot served because the management treatments. The experiment was set move into a irregular complete block style with 3 replicates. Yam setts were planted at a spacing of one m x one m to administer a population of ten thousand plants/ha.
